The animation and art style itself looks very clean and somewhat reminiscent of shows like the Avatar very crisp lines with proportionate features and semi-harsh cell shading. Seeing a Dungeons and Dragons campaign turned into a show is very exciting and brings something completely new to the table of animated fantasy shows. Matthew Mercer ran the campaign and played the character Sylas Briarwood in the animated series. The corresponding voice actors of the group are Laura Bailey, Liam O’Brien, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham. The group consists of the characters Vex’ahlia the ranger, Vax’ildan the rogue, Percival de Rolo the gunslinger, Pike Trickfoot the cleric, Keyleth the druid, Scanlan Shorthalt the bard, and Grog Strongjaw the barbarian.
I personally don’t know much about the group of people or the animated show, but I’ve heard great things about it.
The first episode was released in January of 2022 and is still ongoing. Critical Role is a group of voice actors who release multiple series of them playing “Dungeons and Dragons”, and their campaign “The Legend of Vox Machina” has been adapted to an animated show on Prime Video.
